The Security Service of Ukraine conducted a unique special operation to expose Belarusian agent Inna Kardash, who has been working for the Belarusian KGB since 2015 and attempted to infiltrate the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
Operation Details
35-year-old Inna Kardash was detained in Kyiv after a long investigation by SBU officers and the intelligence unit's own security department. The woman had a complex cover story, working as a journalist for the sanctioned TV channel "112" and leading Ukrainian media outlets.
Occupation Intelligence Objectives
According to the investigation, the agent was tasked with:
- Collecting information about Belarusians and Russians fighting on Ukraine's side
- Establishing contacts with diplomats at the Chinese Embassy in Kyiv
- Attempting to infiltrate military intelligence headquarters units
Special service officers conducted a unique operation, misinforming Belarusian intelligence services through the spy herself over several months.
Legal Consequences
Inna Kardash has been served with suspicions of espionage. She faces up to 15 years of imprisonment with property confiscation.
