On the night of February 7, 2026, Russian occupation forces launched a massive strike on Ukraine's critical infrastructure, using hundreds of drones and dozens of missiles.
According to the Ukrainian Air Force, 447 aerial attack vehicles were recorded, including:
- 2 "Zircon" missiles (from the launch area in temporarily occupied Crimea),
- 21 X-101 cruise missiles (from the Caspian Sea),
- 16 "Kalibr" cruise missiles (from the Black Sea),
- 408 strike drones of "Shahed," "Gerbera," "Italmas," and others.
The main directions of the attack cover regions such as Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Rivne, and Vinnytsia. As of 10:30 AM, the first results of air defense efforts became known: 406 targets were destroyed or suppressed, including 24 missiles and 382 drones.
As a result of the attack, hits were recorded in 19 locations, including Dnipro, where Russian drones damaged municipal enterprises, and in Ivano-Frankivsk, where the city mayor Ruslan Marcinkiv warned of possible power outages and urged residents to stock up on water.
Energy facilities were also affected during the attack, including the Burshtyn and Dobrotvir power plants. President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that the energy infrastructure has been chosen as the enemy's target to disrupt the working process in Ukraine.
The Volyn, Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv, and Rivne regions suffered the most, experiencing significant destruction. Air defense forces in some regions continue their operations under dangerous conditions.
The President of Ukraine appealed to international partners to provide defense systems to reduce the pressure from Moscow and the threats to the energy security of Ukrainians.
