On the evening of February 6, 2026, in Volhynia, particularly in Novovolynsk, there was an attack by a Russian drone, resulting in the city being left without electricity and water supply. According to the Volyn Regional State Administration, the explosions began at approximately 8:00 PM, and less than an hour later, strikes occurred again.

The head of the Volyn Regional Military Administration, Roman Romaniuk, confirmed that one critical infrastructure facility was damaged as a result of the attack. Currently, all relevant services are working at the scene to address the aftermath.

The mayor of Novovolynsk, Boris Karpus, noted that the city is completely without electricity. As a result, residents are facing difficulties with water supply, and there may also be problems with mobile communication. However, heating in the city continues to be supplied, albeit with a possible decrease in pressure in the network.

According to the latest information, during the attack, there were no reports of injuries or fatalities; however, the situation remains tense. Due to these events, air raid alerts have been repeatedly declared in every district of Volhynia due to the threat of new drone attacks.

This is not the first instance of Ukraine suffering from drone attacks. Recently, in December 2025, similar strikes were recorded against critical infrastructure targets in Lutsk.

Authorities are urging residents to remain vigilant and to follow safety announcements. The cleanup from the attack is ongoing, and residents are hoping for a swift restoration of electricity and water supply.
