After Andriy Yermak resigned from the position of Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, all his advisors and assistants were dismissed. Among them was well-known politician and journalist Mykhailo Podolyak. The dismissal was confirmed in an official response from the President's Office to a request by Ukrainian news.
Background of the events
Andriy Yermak held the position of Head of the President's Office until November 2024. His dismissal was prompted by searches conducted by the NABU at his residence. Following this, Yermak announced his intention to head to the front, stating that his dignity was at risk.
Dismissed advisors and assistants
As of December 2024, Yermak had nine advisors. The staff advisors included Oleksandr Bevz, Liliya Pashynna, Viktoriya Romanova, and Tetyana Haiduchenko. The external ones were Serhiy Leshchenko, Dariya Zarivna, Mykhailo Podolyak, Elina Elyanova, and Oleksandr Rodnyansky. The list of these individuals was initially confirmed by public statements from the President's Office.
It is worth noting that Serhiy Leshchenko, who was also Yermak's advisor, was dismissed according to this wave of dismissals. Leshchenko, meanwhile, continues his membership on the supervisory board of the state company "Ukrzaliznytsia".
Podolyak and his future
At the moment, it is unknown whether Mykhailo Podolyak will continue his activity in any other official institution following his dismissal from the President's Office. Meanwhile, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has already consulted with potential candidates for the position of the new Head of the Office. A final decision regarding Yermak's successor has not yet been made, as some technical issues remain unresolved.
