A significant incident occurred in Zaporizhzhia on December 18: an enemy guided aerial bomb (KAB) hit a multi-apartment building, damaging 163 apartments. There is a risk of the entire building collapsing.
According to Regina Kharchenko, Secretary of the Zaporizhzhia City Council, the explosion occurred on the upper floors of the building, posing a danger to residents of the lower floors. “Currently, more than a hundred public utility workers are operating on the site,” she stated.
Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, confirmed that a garage cooperative was also damaged during the attack. Fortunately, there were no casualties in this case.
Overall, according to local authorities, 32 people, including five children, were affected by recent attacks in Zaporizhzhia and the Zaporizhzhia district. Some are in severe condition, and another 14 people have moderate injuries.
Russians have attacked Zaporizhzhia multiple times, regularly using various weapons, including strike drones, missiles, and KABs. The Ukrainian authorities and international organizations classify such actions as war crimes, pointing to their targeted nature against civilian infrastructure.
