On the night of December 18, the Russian army carried out a drone attack on Cherkasy, which resulted in damage to the infrastructure and power outages in various areas of the city. This was reported by Ihor Taburets, head of the Cherkasy Regional Military Administration.
The threat of the use of strike unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) persisted throughout the night. The air raid alert began on December 17 at 10:47 PM in the Cherkasy and Zolotonosha districts. Throughout the night, explosions were repeatedly heard in Cherkasy, indicating the seriousness of the situation. As a result of the attack, power outages were recorded, and services are actively working to eliminate the consequences.
Ihor Taburets noted that all relevant services are working on the restoration of infrastructure and security in the region. At the same time, he urged the residents of Cherkasy not to ignore air raid warning signals, as the threat from the air still persists.
During this time, attacks also occurred in other regions of Ukraine. In particular, a drone attack on Sumy was reported, where civilian infrastructure also suffered damage.
Remember that on the night of December 17, air defense forces managed to destroy two drones over Cherkasy region, but the overall danger remains, and citizens are urged to stay safe and follow the authorities' instructions.
