Today, December 12, Russian troops attacked a sports school in Shostka, Sumy region, where children's training was taking place, using strike drones. This was reported by the head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, Oleg Grigorov, on his social media.
“This was a targeted strike on a location where children were present. The Russians directed two UAVs there,” Grigorov noted, emphasizing the seriousness of the situation.
Fortunately, all children and coaches were promptly evacuated to a safe place, and according to preliminary information, everyone remained alive and unharmed.
Shelled Seredyno-Buda Community
Additionally, according to Grigorov, on the same day, the enemy carried out a mortar shelling of the Seredyno-Buda community in the region, as a result of which a 76-year-old woman was injured and hospitalized.
Context of Recent Events
This attack occurred against the backdrop of information from President Volodymyr Zelensky, who during a recent meeting with journalists spoke about a plan to end the war, which includes the withdrawal of Russian troops from small territories they seized in the Sumy, Kharkiv, and Dnipropetrovsk regions.
Meanwhile, commenting on the situation, Grigorov urged citizens to adhere to safety rules and remain vigilant, as the enemy continues to strike at peaceful settlements, endangering the lives of civilians.
