On October 15, OPPO introduced ColorOS 16 — a new version of its proprietary interface, which will first be available on Find X9 smartphones. The update focuses on smooth operation, interface personalization, and improved cross-platform interaction.
Smoother Animation and Performance Optimization
ColorOS 16 features Seamless Animation — an updated animation system that provides quick responses when switching between apps and navigating the interface.

The Luminous Rendering Engine and Trinity Engine are responsible for stability and smooth performance, effectively distributing system resources based on the load.
The Project Breeze initiative enhances firmware for entry-level devices, ensuring better performance on less powerful hardware.
Updated Design and Personalization
The interface design has become more minimalist. New personalization options are now available:
- setting Motion Photos and videos as wallpapers,
- an expanded selection of fonts, including AI-recommended fonts,
- a full-screen Always-On Display that smoothly transitions to the lock screen,
- Flux Home Screen — the ability to resize folders and icons with auto-adjusting layouts.
AI Tools for Photos and Videos
Editing features have been expanded with AI Portrait Glow — a tool for enhancing portraits in low light. This complements AI Eraser, AI Unblur, and AI Reflection Remover.
The video editor now includes a Master Cut function that allows users to trim, color correct, change speed, and overlay music and text.
Enhanced Cross-Platform Capability
Improved integration with computers:
- O+ Connect now supports both Windows and macOS — allowing users to manage smartphone files from a PC and vice versa;
- Screen Mirroring allows streaming of up to five apps and controlling them with a mouse and keyboard.
The previous Touch to Share feature remains available for quick data sharing between devices.
Availability
ColorOS 16 will be launched alongside the OPPO Find X9. Further updates for other models will be announced later.
