Ukrainian parliamentarian Fedir Venislavsky believes that Russia's war against Ukraine is nearing its conclusion. In an interview with "Telegraf", he expressed his conviction that the conflict could end as early as the beginning of 2026. According to him, recent events such as ultimatums and the efforts of international partners indicate this.
“I remain convinced that the war is coming to an end. Although it may not happen that quickly, I am sure that this is a short-term perspective,” noted Venislavsky. He also emphasized that the meeting between the presidents of Ukraine and the United States, as well as with European partners, could be an important step towards peace.
Comments from the General Staff
The Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Andriy Hnatov, in his interview with "LIGA.net" stated that a just peace with reparations from Russia is possible no earlier than the end of 2025, but under certain conditions, a ceasefire could occur within a few days or weeks.
Hnatov added that achieving peace requires political will from the Russian leadership, and he called for more active diplomacy.
Alternative forecasts
Alternative views on the possible timelines for the end of the war have also emerged in the media. For example, Maria Tykha, known as "the chief witch of Ukraine," believes that the process of ending military actions could drag on until 2027. She described the likelihood of a "frozen" conflict in 2026 with subsequent negotiations, but noted that we cannot expect a quick peace.
In particular, Tykha pointed to the risks of missile attacks in large cities of Ukraine, warning of threats to Kyiv and other regions.
Thus, active political negotiations are ongoing in Ukraine, with all parties interested in achieving peace, although the timing of its onset remains a topic of discussion and forecasts.
