During yesterday's missile attack, fighters of the mobile-fire group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine shot down a Kalibr cruise missile that was heading towards one of the cities in western Ukraine. A precise shot from a portable surface-to-air missile system FN-6 was made by senior soldier Dmytro. This was reported on the page of the Command of the Support Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Shooting at a critical moment

Military personnel note that the shooter of the MANPADS had only a few seconds to react and take the shot. Dmytro shared his impressions of that moment: "At the moment of launch, the world narrows down to the radar screen and a single button. You understand that the price of a mistake is someone's destroyed life." Fortunately, the accurate launch led to the destruction of the Kalibr while it was still in the air, which also highlights the high professional training of the Ukrainian military.

Teamwork and experience

The mobile-fire group, which includes senior soldier Dmytro, consists of four fighters. One of them had previously shot down drones in the east of the country. The soldiers emphasize that the success of the operation is a result of years of experience and automated interaction. "We received the coordinates and quickly made the adjustments. Each member of the crew knows their maneuver by heart," the military explains.

Statistics of achievements

According to ArmyInform, Ukrainian F-16 fighters have already shot down more than 1300 air targets. During a massive shelling, F-16 pilots together with Mirage-2000 crews destroyed at least ten cruise missiles from Russia.

This event is a testament not only to the high technical training of the Armed Forces of Ukraine but also to the courage and responsibility of each fighter who defends our country every day.
