Ukraine's Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal reported a critical situation with electricity supply in the capital, where as of the evening of January 28, 610,000 consumers remain without power.
Electricity Situation
According to Shmyhal, there is currently a power capacity deficit in Kyiv. The Minister reported conducting a detailed audit of the city and region's distributed generation capabilities.
International Assistance
16 partner countries have already provided generators. Of these, 437 units of equipment have already been delivered from the European Union and Japan, with over 500 more generators expected.
Electricity Supply Schedules
From midnight on January 29, Kyiv will switch to temporary power outage schedules. The schedules will vary in different city districts, being individualized for each house.
Tragic Consequences
Shmyhal also reported the death of a gas service worker in the Donetsk region as a result of a Russian FPV drone attack while on duty.
