Head of the Presidential Office Kyrylo Budanov has joined the Ukrainian delegation at the first three-sided negotiations involving representatives from Ukraine, the United States, and Russia, which began on January 23 in Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates).

Meeting Participants

According to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the Ukrainian side will be represented by:

  • Rustem Umerov, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council
  • Kyrylo Budanov, Head of the Presidential Office
  • Serhii Kyslytsya, First Deputy Head of the Presidential Office
  • Davyd Arakhamia, Leader of the "Servant of the People" faction
  • Andrii Hnatov, Chief of the General Staff

Negotiation Details

Russian President's assistant Yuri Ushakov reported that the Russian side will be headed by the Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, Igor Kostyukov. The delegation received specific instructions from President Putin.

The negotiations will take place after lengthy consultations between US and Russian representatives, which lasted over three and a half hours.

Russia's Position

Ushakov stated that Russia will continue its "special military operation" and will pursue its goals until a political and diplomatic settlement is reached.
