The State Service of Special Communications and Information Protection of Ukraine (State Special Communications Service) has made a decision to prohibit the use of Russian software products from the 1C company for accounting and management accounting.
Details of the Ban
The agency published an official list of banned software, which contains 27 names. In particular, the following popular products have been banned:
- "1C: Accounting 8 for Ukraine"
- "1C: Enterprise 8. Trade"
- "1C: Enterprise 8. Payroll and Personnel Management"
- "UA-Budget"
- "BAS Retail Trade"
Reasons for the Ban
The State Special Communications Service emphasizes that the use of these programs creates unacceptable risks to Ukraine's national security. "Refusing to use software that may contain hidden vulnerabilities or be used for espionage and sabotage is key to ensuring the state's resilience in the context of a full-scale Russian aggression," the official statement reads.
Background
It is worth noting that this is not the first attempt to limit the use of Russian software. As early as 2017, Ukraine imposed sanctions against Russian IT companies, including 1C. At that time, the restrictions mainly concerned government structures.
The list of banned programs will be periodically updated by the State Special Communications Service in accordance with the current security situation.
