During the night of January 4-5, the Air Forces of Ukraine twice declared an air raid alert due to potential missile threats from Russian MiG-31K military aircraft.
According to the Air Forces, several waves of danger were recorded throughout the night. In particular, at 1:37 AM, an air raid alert was announced across the entire territory of Ukraine due to the takeoff of MiG-31K from Russian territory.
Details of the Night Threat
- Movement of a group of unmanned aerial vehicles (Shaheds) was recorded in various regions
- Drones were observed in Chernihiv, Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Poltava regions
- Directions of movement: westward, towards regional centers
At 2:00 AM, the Air Forces informed about a temporary cancellation of the missile threat, but soon again warned of potential danger.

Air raid alerts were announced in Chernihiv, Kharkiv, Poltava, Donetsk, Sumy, Dnipropetrovsk, and Kirovohrad regions.
MiG-31K potentially can carry a hypersonic aeroballistic Kinzhal missile, making it especially dangerous for Ukraine.
