DTEK has implemented emergency power outages in the Kyiv region on January 18 due to the consequences of Russian missile and drone attacks and the complex situation in the energy system.
Mykola Kalashnyk, Head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, reported that over 60,000 residents of the Bucha district were left without electricity due to the night attack by Russian troops. Along with residential buildings, enterprises, production facilities, logistics companies, and service sector were also left without power.
Situation in Brovary
Brovary Mayor Igor Sapozhko explained that some city districts were without electricity for 12-17 hours. According to him, a significant number of accidents were recorded at transformer substations due to overloading during reconnection.
Energy workers emphasized that emergency shutdowns were caused not only by shelling but also by the complex situation in the energy system, complicated by frost and power grid overload.
Recommendations for Residents
If electricity is absent for more than 12 hours, Kyiv region residents are asked to contact the local contact center for additional information.
