Meteorologists from "Ukrhydrometcenter" forecast a deterioration in weather conditions in Kyiv and the surrounding region over the weekend. On Sunday, December 14, residents of the capital may face wet snow, light rain, and icy roads.
According to forecasts, light snow is expected overnight, and during the day, moderate wet snow with a possibility of accumulation. Ice is predicted on roadways, which may complicate traffic. The wind will be from the south, shifting to the northwest, at a speed of 7-12 m/s.
Air temperatures in the region will fluctuate between -1 to -6 degrees Celsius at night, and during the day, from -4 degrees Celsius to +1 degree Celsius. In the capital itself, temperatures at night will range from -3 to -5 degrees Celsius, and during the day, will remain around 0 degrees Celsius.
Warning for Residents
Meteorologists have already declared a Level I danger (yellow) due to possible hazardous meteorological phenomena. This may create difficulties for utility services, energy suppliers, and construction workers, as well as significantly complicate transportation throughout the city and region.
Therefore, residents of the capital and the surrounding areas should exercise caution while driving, as icy conditions and wet snow may lead to emergency situations on the roads.
We can only hope that the arctic chill will not linger for long, and a warming trend is expected starting December 16.
