President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has appointed Kyrylo Budanov as the new head of the Presidential Office, which could radically change the communication format with the American administration.
On January 2, Zelenskyy officially announced the appointment of General Budanov, the former head of the Main Intelligence Directorate, to the position of Presidential Office head.
Why Budanov?
According to sources, Budanov has several unique advantages:
- Direct working contacts with the American administration
- Real understanding of the situation on the front line
- Absence of corruption scandals
- Ability to negotiate with the Russian side
In his new position, Budanov will essentially lead negotiations about ending the war and obtaining security guarantees from the United States.
Personnel Changes
Oleh Ivashchenko, who was previously Budanov's deputy and headed the Foreign Intelligence Service, has been appointed to Budanov's position in the Main Intelligence Directorate.
