In December 2023, Ukrainian families can receive financial assistance for electricity bills under the "Winter Support" program, which has already reached over 280,000 households. This was reported by Ukraine's Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko on her Telegram channel.
Who can receive assistance?
According to the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine, compensation can be received by citizens living in dangerous areas who have subsidies or benefits. The program is designed to support Ukrainians who have remained at home, ensuring their basic electricity needs.
In December of this year, the electricity tariff for residential consumers will be 4.32 UAH per 1 kWh. The amount of compensation depends on the number of people in the family:
- For one person — 100 kWh, which amounts to 432 UAH.
- For a household — up to 300 kWh, which equals 1296 UAH per month.
Compensation is calculated automatically along with the monthly subsidy or other utility benefits, so additional applications do not need to be submitted.
How to reduce electricity costs?
Experts from the "Yasno" company advise that installing multi-zone meters can help save on electricity. For example, for two-zone meters, the tariff will be:
- 07:00–23:00 — 4.32 UAH/kWh;
- 23:00–07:00 — 2.16 UAH/kWh.
For three-zone meters, tariffs vary depending on the time of day, allowing consumers to manage their costs effectively.
We remind you that from November 15, 2023, a presidential assistance program was also launched in Ukraine, providing a one-time payment of 1000 UAH for all citizens.
Thus, families can receive substantial financial support in difficult times by taking advantage of government programs.
