The community of "Artzyz" in the Odesa region, which has suffered from regular shelling, has appealed to the government to grant it the status of a combat zone. This decision has become necessary in light of the ongoing drone attacks that damage both civilian and critical infrastructure in the region.

An official request has been sent to the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and the Ministry of Community Development, aiming to include the Artzyz territorial community in the list of settlements where combat actions are taking place. Despite numerous instances of shelling affecting the community, it has not yet received this status, which is a serious loss for its residents.

Social guarantee issues

The lack of combat zone status deprives the residents of the community of social guarantees that they would receive if included. As local authorities emphasize, residents without this status will not be entitled to a number of benefits, including salary increases for education and healthcare workers, tax benefits for businesses, and the opportunity to obtain internally displaced person status.

Sheltering facts

According to the Odesa regional branch of the Association of Ukrainian Cities, significant damage has occurred in "Artzyz" as a result of drone attacks. This has led to disruptions in the energy system and other critical services. Local deputies emphasize that other communities that have already received combat zone status have not faced similar damage.

The leaders of "Artzyz" continue to stress the urgency of the situation, putting pressure on the government for an immediate resolution. They state that including the community in the list of combat actions will help restore social protection for local residents and affirm their rights in accordance with Ukrainian legislation.
