Recent events at the port of Novorossiysk have become central in discussions among experts and the public. A special operation by the Security Service of Ukraine, which resulted in an attack on a Russian submarine, sparked lively debates about Ukraine's ability to counter the aggressor in the Black Sea.

During this operation, according to military expert Andriy Ryzhenko, an underwater drone named Sub Sea Baby was used, which managed to damage the Russian submarine of the 636.3 "Varshavyanka" project, equipped with "Kalibr" cruise missiles. This incident highlights the significant vulnerability of Russian military assets, even when the strike was not from a direct hit but from an explosion nearby.

Meanwhile, another vessel – the Russian tanker "Valeriy Gorchakov" – was attacked by drones in Rostov-on-Don. The vessel sustained serious damage and began to sink. This emphasized the activation of Ukrainian forces in combating the aggressor.

NV Council expert Mykhailo Zhirohov notes that although the drone did not hit the submarine directly, the explosion mainly caused critical damage due to the powerful underwater drone like "Marychka". This equipment is operated via satellite internet, making it significantly more effective in such operations.

The events indicate a new phase of domestic special operations at sea, where technological innovations play a crucial role in curbing aggressive actions from the Russian Federation. Analysts predict further attacks on the enemy's maritime infrastructure, which may significantly impact the balance of power in the region.
