On Saturday, November 29, 2025, the Starokostiantyniv community will hold a farewell ceremony for the fallen defenders of Ukraine — Senior Soldier Vasyl Serhiyovych Basko and Soldier Valentyn Serhiyovych Basko, as well as Chief Sergeant Oleksandr Volodymyrovych Chursin.
The honoring ceremony will take place from 09:00 to 12:00 at the "Garrison House of Officers." Both heroes lost their lives while carrying out combat missions to protect our country during wartime. Soldier Vasyl Basko, born in 2000, unfortunately died in a difficult time for our nation.
Hero Valentyn Basko, born in 2003, also gave everything he could to ensure peace and freedom in his native land at the cost of his life. Chief Sergeant Oleksandr Chursin was killed while performing a combat mission in the Pokrovsk direction near the settlement of Biletske in the Donetsk region on November 22, 2025.
The burial will take place at the village cemetery in Sakhnivtsi for the Basko brothers, while Oleksandr Chursin will be buried at the city cemetery in Starokostiantyniv.
The Starokostiantyniv community is deeply mourning this irreversible loss at this tragic moment. All residents are invited to pay their respects to the fallen soldiers who gave their lives for the freedom and independence of Ukraine. The mourning procession will depart at 12:00 along the route: the city of Starokostiantyniv — the village of Krasnosilka — the village of Sakhnivtsi.
