This morning in Kyiv, in an apartment on Lesya Ukrainka Square, the death of 41-year-old Dmytro Kadenyuk, the son of the first astronaut of independent Ukraine, Leonid Kadenyuk, was discovered. His mother, Vira Kadenyuk, found her son's body near the entrance to the apartment.

Leonid Kadenyuk, Dmytro's father, was a famous Ukrainian test pilot and political figure. He became the first astronaut of independent Ukraine, making a flight on NASA's "Columbia" shuttle in 1997. Kadenyuk died in January 2018 from a heart attack.
