Due to shelling by Russia in the Odesa region, movement on the "Odesa-Reni" highway has been restricted, creating significant difficulties for traveling to the southern areas of the region. It is known that yesterday, December 18, a Russian drone attacked a bridge near the village of Mayaky, hitting a civilian car. As a result, a woman died, and three children were injured.
The Main Directorate of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine reported that crossing through checkpoints on the Ukrainian-Moldovan border in the Odesa region is complicated. The police urge drivers to choose alternative routes, including through the Vinnytsia and Chernivtsi regions. It is noted that at the "Mohyliv-Podilskyi" checkpoint in the Vinnytsia region, an increase in traffic flow is already observed.
Meanwhile, the Moldovan side announced the temporary closure of the "Mayaky-Udobne-Palanca" and "Starokazache-Tudora" crossing points. Ukrainian customs officers recommend that freight carriers and passengers refrain from traveling in this direction until the situation stabilizes.
The Head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, Oleh Kiper, warned that Russian occupiers are deliberately targeting vital objects, trying to destabilize the region. Recently, as a result of attacks, railway infrastructure in the Odesa region has also been damaged.
Given the situation, citizens are advised to follow updates from official sources and carefully plan their routes.
