Today in Ukraine, a nationwide moment of silence took place, during which citizens honored the memory of fallen defenders. Special attention was given to Ruslan Trindey—a soldier of the 47th Separate Mechanized Brigade "Magura," whose life was cut short in battle.

Consequences of the War

Ruslan Trindey, originally from Kalush, was born on December 14, 1979. After studying in Kalush schools and a vocational-technical school, he worked as a market controller and was involved in sports, particularly freestyle wrestling. At the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia into Ukraine, he decided to join the Armed Forces and began serving as a gunner.

Unfortunately, his life was tragically cut short on February 27, 2024, while performing a combat mission in the Berdychi area of the Pology District in the Donetsk region. Ruslan Trindey was only 44 years old. After his death, on March 28, 2024, he was posthumously awarded the title of "Honorary Citizen of the Kalush City Territorial Community." Although Ruslan's example reflects a great loss, his memory will be preserved in the hearts of the people.

A New Initiative in Kostopil

The city of Kostopil has also introduced a new format for the moment of silence, which will take place every day at 9 am. It is said that this is not only a tribute to the fallen but also a way to remind residents to pause for a moment and remember the price of peaceful life. The public organization "Parents of Angels" initiated this important event, which includes the playing of the national anthem and words of gratitude.

Every resident of the city has the opportunity to join this event during which traffic is halted. The Deputy Mayor of Kostopil, Serhiy Geruk, noted that such commemorations have been ongoing for two years, and now they have a nationwide character.

Call for Dignified Recognition

As noted by the head of the NGO "Parents of Angels," Natalia Prutsova, improving the format of commemorations is an important step in honoring the memory of those who gave their lives for their homeland.

The memory of the fallen heroes should live on in the hearts of the people. As local residents emphasized, one minute of silence is little for us, but for the defenders, it is an eternity.
