Defense of Pokrovsk: Ukrainian Armed Forces Create New Logistics Routes in Response to Enemy Attacks

As of the morning of December 3, 2023, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) are actively engaged on the front lines in Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad, where fierce battles continue. According to the Eastern Operational Command, Ukrainian units are actively organizing new logistics routes to supply troops as the situation on the battlefield becomes increasingly complex.

Search and assault operations continue in Pokrovsk, particularly in urban areas. The AFU reports that the northern part of the city remains under control of Ukrainian forces, despite claims from Russian command about the "complete capture" of Pokrovsk.

Situation in Myrnohrad

NATO has also confirmed that in Myrnohrad, Ukrainian defenders are effectively "practically surrounded," and their supply largely depends on drones. A NATO representative noted that control over the city has been "virtually lost," with Russian troops controlling more than 95% of Pokrovsk’s territory, leaving only "isolated pockets" of Ukrainian resistance.

Statements from High Officials

At a meeting before negotiations with the United States, representatives of the Russian command announced the capture of Pokrovsk, but this was denied by the AFU. The head of communications for the 7th Rapid Reaction Corps of the AFU stated that "the northern part of Pokrovsk is under the control of Ukrainian forces, who continue active counterattacks." The situation remains critical, with ongoing battles in central areas.

Measures to Support Defense

Additionally, Ukrainian command continues to work on reinforcing defensive positions in surrounding areas in preparation for potential offensive operations by Russian troops. The Estonian Ministry of Defense noted that the fall of Pokrovsk will not change the overall picture of the war and stated that physical control over the cities will remain with Ukrainian forces.

Reports indicate that in recent days, Ukrainian units have suffered losses but continue to destroy Russian military formations, specifically noting that in the last 24 hours, 517 Russian soldiers have been eliminated in the Pokrovsk area.
