Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, announced an internal crisis state, calling it a "red code," due to tough competitive pressure from Google's new artificial intelligence "Gemini 3." Altman reminded employees that "this is a critical time for ChatGPT."

The technologically advanced "Gemini 3," which has shown impressive results in numerous tests, has raised concerns at OpenAI. Altman emphasized that the success of "Gemini 3" could create "temporary economic barriers" for his company. This new product has received recognition from leaders of major organizations within just a few weeks, including Marc Benioff, CEO of Salesforce, who stated that since switching to "Gemini 3," he has no plans to return to "ChatGPT." In his assessment, he noted that "the leap in quality is incredible – understanding, speed, images, video… everything has become clearer and faster."

It is important to note that "ChatGPT" has 800 million users per week; however, Google also shows high profitability from its search business, allowing them to invest significant resources into the development of artificial intelligence, including for the new "Gemini" models. According to recent data, OpenAI is currently valued at $500 billion, despite the fact that the company is still not profitable.

OpenAI's plans to improve ChatGPT

Altman announced the suspension of advertising plans for "ChatGPT," focusing efforts on enhancing the product's features. Nick Turley, head of "ChatGPT," noted in a post on the platform "X" the three-year anniversary since the product's launch, assuring that the team prioritizes increasing artificial intelligence capabilities and expanding access worldwide.

OpenAI's financial situation

Sam Altman also noted that the company is confident in its ability to achieve significant revenue growth, predicting that annual revenue could exceed $20 billion, with the potential growth to "hundreds of billions" by 2030. This strategy requires significant investments in the development of computing power.

Currently, amid heightened competition, OpenAI continues to work on improving its artificial intelligence technology, striving to provide quality services to its users and maintain market leadership.
