A few days ago, it became known that Jared Kushner, the son-in-law of U.S. President Donald Trump, will join negotiations with Ukrainian officials to be held in Florida. Kushner, who previously worked on addressing Middle Eastern issues, now plays an important role in efforts to achieve peace in Ukraine.

According to former Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin, Kushner's involvement in the peace negotiations changes a lot, as he could become a key player in the upcoming discussions. “He is a very intelligent person who knows how to make plans,” Klimkin noted during an interview on the YouTube channel LIGA.net.

Although Kushner does not hold an official position in the U.S. government, he remains a trusted person of Trump, which grants him significant weight in international matters. Trump has repeatedly emphasized that Kushner is his close advisor on foreign policy matters and believes that his participation in the negotiations could have a positive impact.

Among Kushner's visions is a plan that includes elements already implemented during conflicts in the Middle East. His strategy seems to have delayed tumultuous debates and facilitated the negotiation process. However, many experts in international politics express concerns regarding the limited circle of individuals involved in the negotiations, as a genuine peace agreement requires broad support and consultations.

Negotiations with the Ukrainian delegation are scheduled for December 2 in Moscow, where Kushner and his partner, special representative Steve Witkoff, will discuss their peace plan directly with Russian President Vladimir Putin. These meetings raise concerns among Ukraine's European allies, as the initial version of the peace plan faced criticism for the potential capitulation to Russian demands.

Despite the existing risks associated with Kushner's participation, his connection to the Trump administration may signal a new approach to the peace process in Ukraine. The prominent role he plays demonstrates how family ties still hold weight in international politics and can influence the foundations of global relations.
