In Mykolaiv Oblast, in the city of Bashtank, employees of the State Environmental Inspection Department (control) of Animal World and Bioresources conducted a raid at the local market, during which illegal fish trading was discovered without documents confirming its legal origin.
According to information published by the State Environmental Inspection, the market inspection in Bashtank took place on November 22. Inspectors monitored compliance with legislation in the field of aquatic bioresource trading during regular raid inspections.
During the raid, the sale of fish was found for which no documents were provided to confirm its legality. An administrative protocol was drawn up against the trader in accordance with part 1 of Article 88-1 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses. The case materials have been sent to court, which will determine further punishment.
In the department, it was emphasized that for such violations, fines ranging from 30 to 100 non-taxable minimum incomes of citizens are foreseen. Inspectors continue their work aimed at protecting water resources and combating illegal fishing in the region.
