President Says New Measures Are Being Prepared to Strengthen the Protection of Ukrainian Cities

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced that, together with the newly appointed Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Major General Mykhailo Drapatyi, Acting Minister of Defense Yevhenii Khmara, and Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Pavlo Palisa, a comprehensive action plan has been developed in response to Russia's recent large-scale attacks.

The President made the announcement following a high-level meeting with Ukraine's military leadership.

Protecting Cities and Critical Infrastructure Is the Top Priority

According to Zelenskyy, the meeting included a detailed assessment of the battlefield situation and identified the areas requiring the fastest decisions.

Particular attention was given to strengthening Ukraine's response to Russian strikes targeting critical infrastructure and civilian facilities.

"We outlined our plan of action in response to Russian attacks on infrastructure that threaten our cities, border and frontline regions, Kyiv, the Odesa region, and our maritime corridor," Zelenskyy said.

A Coordinated Effort Across All Security Agencies

The President emphasized that a comprehensive list of measures has already been prepared and will involve all key defense and security institutions, including:

  • the Armed Forces of Ukraine;
  • the Ministry of Defense;
  • intelligence agencies;
  • special services;
  • other government bodies.

According to Zelenskyy, Acting Defense Minister Yevhenii Khmara is working on rapidly implementing the operational requirements submitted by frontline corps commanders, while Pavlo Palisa continues coordinating efforts between the military leadership and the Presidential Office.

Russia Intensifies Its Air Campaign

In recent weeks, Russia has significantly increased its combined aerial assaults against Ukraine, launching cruise missiles, ballistic missiles, and attack drones against cities and critical infrastructure.

Energy facilities, transportation hubs, and civilian infrastructure remain among the primary targets of these attacks.

In response to the evolving threat, Ukraine's political and military leadership is preparing additional measures designed to strengthen national defense, improve the protection of critical infrastructure, and enhance the country's ability to respond to future Russian strikes.
