Epic Climb by American Rock Climber

Famous American rock climber Alex Honnold performed a stunning ascent of the 101-story "Taipei 101" skyscraper in Taiwan without any safety equipment during a live Netflix broadcast.

The climb took the athlete just over an hour and a half. According to him, he almost lost his sense of space and time during the ascent. "It feels endless," Honnold said about the 1,667-foot tower.

Technical Features of the Climb

Honnold faced additional challenges from wind conditions and structural features of the building. The most difficult were temporarily protruding structures that resembled "bamboo boxes".

The live broadcast gathered 6.2 million viewers and ranked third among English-language shows on the Netflix platform for the week.

Celebrity Reactions

Video blogger "Mr. Beast" even commented on Honnold's fee, stating that he would have paid him more for such a challenge on his own channel.

Previously, Honnold gained fame for climbing El Capitan in Yosemite National Park without safety equipment in 2017.
