The Security Service of Ukraine exposed and detained a Russian agent who was conducting intelligence activities in favor of the enemy, collecting critically important information about Kyiv's heating power plants.
Intelligence Operation Details
According to the SBU, the woman, who is a resident of Rivne region, was carrying out tasks for the Federal Security Service of Russia. Her primary mission was to search for and transmit photos, videos, and coordinates of capital city heating power plants that Russians planned to attack during another series of missile and drone strikes.
Agent's Route
After recruitment, the agent was sent to Kyiv region, where she traveled around local heating power plants and recorded their technical condition after previous Russian attacks. Subsequently, she was assigned further intelligence tasks:
- Monitoring the movement of echelons and columns of Defense Forces in Odesa region
- Tracking military equipment in Chernihiv region
Detention and Evidence
SBU counterintelligence detained the agent in Chernihiv region. They seized two smartphones, replacement SIM cards, and other evidence of collaboration with the enemy. The woman was informed of suspicion under the article of state treason during martial law.
She faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
