Ukrhydrometeorological Center Warns of Sharp Cold Snap

In the coming days, Ukraine will experience frosty weather with temperatures dropping to -22°C at night. According to the Ukrhydrometeorological Center, Arctic air masses are entering the country, causing temperatures to significantly decrease.

Temperature Indicators by Regions

The most severe frosts are expected in the north and northeast of the country, where temperatures may drop to -22°C, and in some places even to -24°C. Daytime temperatures in most regions will range from -10 to -15°C.

  • North and Center: at night up to -22°C, during the day -10 to -15°C
  • South: at night 8-13°C, during the day 2-7°C
  • West: at night 12-17°C, during the day 7-12°C
  • Transcarpathia: 4-9°C below zero

Spokesperson for the Ukrhydrometeorological Center, Natalia Ptukha, noted that the next three nights will be the coldest, especially in the north and central regions.

Precipitation and Wind

On January 13-14, no significant precipitation is expected, with only a slight snow possible in the Carpathians and Transcarpathia. On January 15, light snow is forecast across the country, except for the northeast. Some icy road conditions are anticipated. Wind will be westerly and southwest, 5-10 m/s.
