The National Commission for Electronic Communications (NCCEC) has decided to block the blockchain platform Polymarket on the territory of Ukraine. According to Resolution No. 695, adopted on December 10, 2025, electronic communication service providers are instructed to close access to the internet resource polymarket.com.
Reasons for Blocking
The basis for restricting access was the lack of a proper gambling license for Polymarket. The platform allows users to place bets on various events - from political and economic to sports and cultural.
Platform Scale
In October 2025, the total trading volume on Polymarket was about $2.5 billion. Bets related to the war in Ukraine were particularly popular, with the amount exceeding $100 million.
International Context
Polymarket has already faced restrictions in several countries. In particular, in the USA in 2022, the company paid a fine of $1.4 million to the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. In January 2025, the platform was blocked in Singapore, Poland, France, and Romania.
The polymarket.com domain has been added to the public registry of resources subject to access restrictions in Ukraine.
