The series "Stranger Things" has officially become the most popular project in the history of the Netflix streaming platform, garnering over 1.2 billion views even before the release of the final episodes of the fifth season.
According to Variety, the series surpassed other hit Netflix projects — "Wednesday" and "Squid Game". The fifth and final season was divided into three parts, the first four episodes of which were released at the end of November and collected 102.6 million views in 25 days.

The final season became the most popular series of the week in 90 out of 93 countries where Netflix is available. The release of the last season also encouraged viewers to rewatch the previous four seasons.

Besides being a cultural phenomenon, "Stranger Things" significantly impacted the US economy. Throughout the entire production period since 2016, the series created over 8 thousand jobs in the production sector and brought 1.4 billion dollars to the national GDP.
Georgia had the biggest impact, where most of the series was filmed — 650 million dollars contribution to the state's GDP with involvement of over 2 thousand suppliers of various products. California took second place with a 500 million dollar contribution.

The next three episodes of the fifth season will be available on December 26, and the final eighth episode will be released on January 1, 2025 for Ukrainian viewers.
