On Wednesday morning, December 24, several explosions thundered in Kharkiv after enemy missiles or aerial bombs flew toward the city. Air raid alerts in Kharkiv region were declared twice during the night.
Chronicle of Night Attacks
The first alert sounded at 03:17 due to a drone moving toward the regional center. The Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported threats of unmanned aerial vehicle attacks.
At 03:35, sky defenders recorded launches of KABs (guided aerial bombs) against Kharkiv region. Soon after, a threat of missile attacks emerged in several regions of Ukraine. The all-clear was announced at 04:14.
Morning Shelling
About an hour later, the alert was renewed – at 05:37 a high-speed target was flying toward Kharkiv from the north. Another one followed. At this time, Telegram channels reported sounds of explosions heard in Kharkiv.
A few minutes before the series of explosions, the military reported that a high-speed target was flying toward the city. Then they recorded another one, after which several explosions were heard. No official information about "hits" was received.
The final all-clear was announced at 06:33.
Situation in Other Regions
As of 05:48, air raid alert signals continued in Kharkiv, Chernihiv, Sumy, Poltava, Dnipropetrovsk, and Donetsk regions.
Recall that on Tuesday night, explosions also thundered in Zaporizhzhia. Regional Military Administration Head Ivan Fedorov reported that a residential building was damaged as a result of the Russian attack, and two people were injured.
