Today, December 23, emergency power outages have been implemented in the Chernivtsi region. The reason for these measures was a massive attack by Russian troops on Ukraine's energy infrastructure. This information was confirmed by the press service of the joint-stock company "Chernivtsioblenergo."

"Outages are implemented without prior notice out of extreme necessity to protect the power system from significant technological damage," stated the official company message published in the Telegram channel "Ukrenergo."

Reasons and consequences of the outages

According to the dispatchers of "Ukrenergo," the supply of electricity to certain facilities has been temporarily suspended in all regions of Ukraine. This step allows to avoid technological damage and stabilize the country's energy system. The forced measures are implemented promptly and without warning.

It is reported that the air raid alarm in the region has been active since 05:06, and the flight of Russian drones over the region was detected, posing a threat not only to the Dniester district but to the entire region. Later, there was a threat of a missile strike.

Authorities' reaction and system restoration

The head of Chernivtsi OVA, Ruslan Zaparanyuk, emphasizes the importance of discipline and cooperation under such conditions. "Restoration work will begin as soon as it is safe," the message says.

"Chernivtsioblenergo" expresses gratitude to the residents for their patience and endurance, as the cooperation of citizens is crucial in restoring the region's stability.
