Today, December 4, in Ukraine, the schedules for power outages will continue due to the massive shelling of the country's energy facilities. According to information from the state company "Ukrenergo," power outages will occur throughout the day according to schedules, with volumes ranging from 0.5 to 3 shifts of simultaneous disconnections.

Power outages will last from 00:00 to 23:59, and power restrictions will also be applied to industrial consumers. The management of "Ukrenergo" urges Ukrainians to use electricity rationally when it is available during the supply hours.

Situation in the Energy System

Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine Mykola Kolisnyk noted that the situation in the energy system remains complex due to shelling, which has complicated the transmission of electricity between regions. “The main complication is the ability to transmit available electricity,” he emphasized at a press conference.

Currently, nine blocks of nuclear power plants (NPPs) are in operation, and there is 2.1 GW of capacity for importing electricity. “Emergency assistance” is used for balancing consumption as quickly as possible,” Kolisnyk noted.

Depending on the region, the volumes of disconnections may vary: in the west of the country, up to two shifts of disconnections may be applied during peak hours, in the center and south – up to three, and in the north and east – three shifts.

Russian military forces have increased the intensity of shelling of Ukrainian energy and gas infrastructure, which significantly affects the ability and quality of electricity supply to Ukrainian consumers during the heating season. As a result, schedules for hourly disconnections and power restrictions for industrial consumers have been introduced in Ukraine.
