The former head of the National Energy Company "Ukrenergo," Volodymyr Kudrytsky, has become the subject of a scandal after it was announced that he awarded himself a bonus of 40 million UAH upon dismissal. This statement was made on the air of the program "SVOI" by Member of Parliament Oleksiy Kucherena.
“Mr. Kudrytsky, when he left the company, awarded himself a bonus of 40 million UAH. Think about it. In August of last year, a person who left the company of his own free will, who disrupted shelters, led the company to technical default, all these scandals with Shurma's solar stations, with thefts, etc., he awarded himself such a bonus,” Kucherena said.
However, Volodymyr Kudrytsky himself denied this information, calling it “a lie.” In an interview with Suspilne, he explained that his contract provided for accumulated payments, which were deferred until the end of his leadership. “I did indeed receive these payments, but it was not 40 million; nothing close to 40 million. This amount is several times smaller,” emphasized the former head of "Ukrenergo."
In the context of the scandal, earlier, on October 21, the State Bureau of Investigation conducted searches at Kudrytsky's location. The investigation concerns possible inflation of contract work costs and the volumes of deforestation during the construction of energy highways. Kudrytsky confirmed that the searches indeed took place, adding that during the investigative actions, his phone was snatched from his hands.
On October 29, the Pechersk District Court of Kyiv chose a preventive measure for Kudrytsky, who was detained based on a criminal case. After posting bail of 13.7 million UAH, he was released from detention.
The circumstances of the case raise many questions, particularly regarding a scheme that, according to the investigation, Kudrytsky allegedly joined back in 2018, while he was already serving as deputy director of "Ukrenergo." The media notes that as a result of the criminal actions, the participants of the scheme embezzled state funds.
The investigation is ongoing, and the situation continues to require attention in the context of the criminal prosecution of the former head of the enterprise.
