On December 25th at 8:00 PM, ICTV2 will premiere the Ukrainian New Year comedy "Train on December 31st" — a box office hit of 2025 that collected over 50 million hryvnias at the box office and sold 309,368 tickets.

The festive film, which successfully launched in cinemas on January 1st this year, will now become the main Christmas event for Ukrainian cinema fans. The film features a star cast: Stanislav Boklan, Kateryna Kuznetsova, Mykhailo Khoma (Dzidzio), Yuriy Gorbunov, Liliya Rebrik, Artemiy Yegorov, Andriy Isayenko and other famous actors.

Film Plot

The events unfold on New Year's Eve on a train traveling from Kyiv to Lviv. Conductor Mykola Ivanovych (Stanislav Boklan), who was supposed to peacefully spend his last working day before retirement, is forced to calm unruly passengers. When the train unexpectedly breaks down in the middle of a snow-covered field, the travelers find themselves in an unusual situation.

Among the passengers are a runaway bride, an introverted accountant, a pregnant woman on the eve of childbirth, a shy guy, and a star of a popular medical series. The forced stop turns into a real adventure: Andriy Isayenko plays himself and delivers a baby, Oleksiy Petrynenko (Artemiy Yegorov) meets the New Year with two women simultaneously, and Pavlivna and Petrovych (Liliya Rebrik and Yuriy Gorbunov) seek love in each other.

Channel's Festive Mission

"Showing a great Ukrainian comedy on Christmas — this is what we strive for in our mission to popularize Ukrainian cinema. This is truly a warm film that's perfect for gathering in a cozy circle with loved ones around the screens in prime time," commented ICTV and ICTV2 channels director Anastasiya Shteyngauz.

The festive atmosphere is enhanced by soundtracks from Ukrainian performers — the song "Winter" by Klavdiya Petrivna and "Waiting at Home" by Yaktak. The film also features British politician Boris Johnson, which adds special piquancy to the comedy.
