Historic Victory for Ukrainian Tennis Player

Elina Svitolina made an outstanding breakthrough at Australian Open 2026, confidently defeating world's third-ranked player Coco Hoff with a score of 6:1, 6:2 in the quarterfinal match.

The match lasted only 59 minutes and ended with a convincing victory for the Ukrainian. After the defeat, the American tennis player even broke her own racket in frustration.

In the semifinal, Svitolina will face world number one Aryna Sabalenka, who is competing under a neutral status. This will be their seventh head-to-head encounter, where Svitolina currently has only one victory.

For the 28-year-old Ukrainian, reaching the Australian Open semifinal is her highest achievement in thirteen years of tournament participation. Previously, she had only reached quarterfinals in 2018, 2019, and 2025.
