Ukraine's top tennis player Elina Svitolina confidently defeated world's third-ranked player Coco Gauff in the Australian Open quarter-finals with a crushing score of 6:1, 6:2 and guaranteed her return to the WTA world top 10.
By reaching the Australian Open semi-finals, Svitolina will gain 3205 points and rise to 10th place in the world ranking. If she advances to the final, the athlete will receive an additional 520 points and take the ninth position, and in case of winning the tournament, she will have 4425 points and end up in eighth place.
This will be Elina's first return to the WTA top 10 since October 2021. Her personal record remains the third position, which she held in September 2017.
