Rivne region has fully restored electricity supply for 300,000 consumers who were left without power as a result of a massive Russian attack on energy infrastructure on the morning of December 23.

Rapid restoration of energy supply

Head of Rivne Regional State Administration Oleksandr Koval reported that energy workers coped with the task within a few hours after the attack. "Energy workers have fully restored electricity supply in Rivne region after the enemy attack. I thank them for their professionalism and dedication," noted the regional leader.

About 300,000 subscribers were left without power after the enemy struck an energy facility in the region. Critical infrastructure facilities were switched to alternative power sources.

Introduction of hourly blackout schedules

Despite full restoration of electricity supply, due to the difficult situation in the country's energy system, Rivne region was forced to introduce hourly blackout schedules.

Specifically, from 12:00 to 16:00 there will be no power in subgroups 1.1, 1.2, 2.1, 2.2. Schedules for other subgroups are being compiled separately.

Consequences of the Russian attack

As a result of the enemy attack, the following were damaged:

  • 2 residential buildings
  • 3 outbuildings
  • 3 passenger cars

It is important to note that there were no injuries among the civilian population. Windows in the affected homes are planned to be installed during the day.

Representatives of Security and Defense Forces, as well as other services, are working at the scene. The massive attack on December 23 became the ninth since the beginning of the year, aimed at Ukraine's energy infrastructure.
