President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported a massive nighttime attack by Russia on Kyiv, during which the diplomatic mission of the State of Qatar was damaged.
Attack Details
According to the head of state, Russia attacked Ukraine this night with 242 drones, 13 ballistic missiles targeting energy and civilian infrastructure, one medium-range "Oreshnik" ballistic missile, and 22 cruise missiles.
Qatar Embassy Damage
Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha confirmed the damage to the State of Qatar's embassy building in Kyiv as a result of the Russian strike. He called this incident a gross violation of the Vienna Convention.
Attack Consequences
As a result of the shelling in Kyiv, four people were killed, including an ambulance worker. 19 multi-story buildings, a kindergarten, a tram depot, a locomotive, cars, a supermarket, and a gas station were damaged.
President's Reaction
Zelenskyy called on the global community, especially the United States, to provide a clear response to Russian aggression and emphasized the urgent need for support of Ukraine's air defense system.
