The situation in Ukraine's energy system remains tense, leading to the introduction of hourly power outage schedules. The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine has announced that on December 12, electricity restrictions will affect all regions, including Kyiv and the surrounding areas.
According to the state-owned company "Ukrenergo," outages will be implemented for all categories of consumers, including industries. The reason for this decision remains the consequences of missile attacks by Russian forces on Ukraine's energy infrastructure.
It is noted that the duration of outages for the population may be around 12 hours per day. In particular, the company "DTEK" has already published outage schedules for Kyiv and other regions, including Odesa and Dnipropetrovsk oblasts.
New Government Solutions
Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko stated yesterday that the government aims to reduce the duration of power outages as early as this Saturday. She emphasized that all ministries and regional military administrations have been instructed to provide alternative power sources for critical infrastructure.
“The government's goal is to ensure electricity supply to the population,” Svyrydenko stressed. She also added that the state is working on optimizing electricity consumption considering the needs of all regions.
Experts point out that restoring the energy system after the war may take many years. However, Ukrainians continue to hope for an improvement in the situation. The head of "Ukrenergo," Vitalii Zaichenko, noted that the worst-case scenario for the population is a complete blackout, which, in his opinion, remains unlikely.
It is important to keep track of the updated schedules for power outages to avoid inconveniences in daily life.
