On February 8, the national company "Ukrenergo" introduces hourly power outage schedules for household consumers and capacity limitations for industrial enterprises. This decision has been made due to the consequences of Russian missile and drone attacks on the energy system.
Outage Schedules by Regions
In Kharkiv Oblast, electricity will be turned off according to the schedule in all consumer queues. According to Kharkivoblenergo, there are plans for two to three outages throughout the day, with a total of up to 17 hours without electricity.
Lviv Oblast will also experience significant outages — residents of the region will be without electricity for 10.5 to 14 hours, depending on the queue. Two to four outages are planned per day.
In Volyn Oblast, outages are scheduled for all queues, and residents will remain without electricity for up to 18 hours.
Prikarpattia and Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast will also have hourly outages. Here, electricity will not be available from three to four times a day.
Emergency Outages in the Kyiv Region
In Kyiv and Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, and Odesa Oblasts, emergency power outages have been in effect since February 7, so the schedules do not apply.
Energy workers urge Ukrainians to consume electricity responsibly when it is available and to stay updated with new data through the regional energy companies' resources. The situation in the energy system remains very complex, especially in Kyiv, where consumers receive electricity only for one and a half to two hours.
It should be noted that on February 7, Russian invaders launched a massive strike against Ukraine's energy infrastructure, specifically halting operations at the Burshtyn TPP, which suffered significant damage. This has only increased the electricity deficit in many regions.
