According to the latest statements by the head of the board of NEC "Ukrenergo" Vitaliy Zaichenko, electricity supply in Ukraine, particularly in Dnipro, may remain under threat due to emergency outages in the coming weeks. As a result of a massive attack on energy facilities that took place last night, the situation with electricity supply has become even more complicated.
Zaichenko noted that in most regions of Ukraine, including Dnipro, electricity outages will last from 12 to 16 hours per day. "The situation is quite severe... We are no longer talking about days, we are talking about weeks when recovery will be necessary," he emphasized during the telethon.
Outage schedules
Emergency outages have particularly affected the frontline regions of Ukraine. In Dnipro and other cities across the country, hourly outage schedules have been implemented as the load on the power system increases. In the coming days, more extensive electricity outages will be conducted across Ukraine.
Currently, according to the press service of DTEK, the outage schedules for Dnipro for the upcoming days have not yet been approved, but it is anticipated that the situation will not improve. Zaichenko urged citizens to reduce electricity consumption to alleviate the load on the grid.
Expectations in the frost
Despite the increase in consumption levels with the onset of cold weather, "Ukrenergo" assured that the outage schedules will not become longer. "I wouldn't say that there will be more outages during the frosts, as the system will handle the load," Zaichenko assured.
Moreover, the news states that in sunny days the schedules may be shortened, as the presence of sunlight will positively impact Ukraine's energy system.
