Today, December 7, new schedules for hourly power outages have been introduced in Ukraine due to the consequences of mass missile attacks by Russia on energy facilities. Regional energy companies and "DTEK" report the introduction of restrictions in all regions of the country.

Reasons for the outages

The state enterprise "Ukrenergo" indicates that the duration of power outages in Ukraine can range from 12 to 16 hours. This is related to the recent strikes that occurred on the night of December 6.

Outage schedules for different regions

Power outage schedules are already available in several regions. For example, in Kyiv and the Kyiv region, as well as in the Odesa and Mykolaiv regions, outages are distributed as follows:

  • Kyiv: The schedule corresponds to the new hourly norms.
  • Odesa region: Outages will take place according to the established schedule.
  • Mykolaiv region: Also according to the hourly outages, specifying exact times.

Additionally, "Ukrenergo" has urged consumers to change their electricity consumption habits, particularly to use energy-intensive appliances at night or during sunny weather to assist the energy workers.

Official comments

The chairman of the board of "Ukrenergo," Vitaliy Zaychenko, noted: "The situation with restoring energy supply is quite complicated. We are talking about weeks that will be needed for recovery." Viktoriya Kachan, a representative of the Ministry of Energy, added: "When restoring the system, it is important to adhere to the new schedules to ensure maximum stability in the electricity supply."

Efforts to support critical infrastructure continue in Ukraine, but the endless attacks from the aggressor pose a serious threat to the country's energy security.
