Large-Scale Emergency Power Outages in the Capital
On January 31, in Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities, large-scale emergency power outages occurred, resulting in a complete halt of subway traffic.
According to the Kyiv City State Administration, the reason for stopping traffic was the critical voltage level from external power centers. Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko reported that subway movement was stopped due to low network voltage, and underground stations can serve as shelters with backup power.
Details of Emergency Outages
Ukrenergo has introduced emergency electricity restrictions in all regions of the country. Outage schedules are in effect around the clock, connected to the consequences of previous Russian rocket and drone attacks on energy infrastructure.
In Kyiv and Kyiv Oblast, electricity is being supplied according to temporary individual schedules for each house. Currently, 253 multi-story buildings remain without heat.
Recommendations for Residents
Energy workers urge Ukrainians to consume electricity sparingly and follow current outage schedules on local energy company websites.
