Traditions and Holiday History
On January 12, 2026, World Daughter's Day will be celebrated worldwide — a special holiday designed to emphasize the importance and value of daughters in families.
Holiday Origin
The version of the holiday's founding originates from India. A group of men during a meeting at YMCA, including Gurcharan Singh Bhatia, Charan Kher, Didar Singh Pann, and Satya Das, decided to create a day honoring their daughters.
How it is Celebrated in Ukraine
In Ukraine, there are two dates for this holiday: World Daughter's Day on January 12 and International Daughter's Day on April 25. Traditionally, the holiday is celebrated in a family circle, where parents:
- Congratulate their daughters
- Thank them for joy and happiness
- Give gifts
- Spend time together in nature
Greetings for Daughters
Parents traditionally express the warmest feelings through poems and personal wishes, wishing their daughters health, success, love, and happiness.
