Russian troops launched another strike on Ukraine's energy infrastructure on the night of December 30, leaving over 75,000 consumers without electricity.
According to Deputy Minister of Energy Olha Yukhymchuk, Chernihiv, Kharkiv, and Sumy regions were affected. In particular, over 75,000 consumers are without power in the Chernihiv region.
Scale of Damage
"Enemy forces have repeatedly attacked energy facilities, with damage levels varying across regions," the official explained. Due to extensive destruction, it is currently impossible to return to hourly disconnection schedules in the left bank of Kyiv and in several districts of Kyiv and Odesa regions.
Energy Workers' Response
"Ukrenergo" reports that specialists are working around the clock to quickly eliminate the consequences of the attacks. The company also calls on the population to consume electricity sparingly.
Recall that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Russian troops have attacked Ukrainian energy infrastructure 4,500 times.
